I hate to see anything go to waste so I was quick to act with the last almost-hard-as-rock everything bagel we had lingering in the fridge!
These bagel chips are so easy to make and very similar to something you would pay $3 or $4 dollars a bag for at the grocery store! And the beauty of making them at home is that you have a variety of flavors at your fingertips! Plus, you can control the amount of oil that goes into them if you make them yourself which is really important to me
You can either cut them from top to bottom to produce about 15-20 smaller chips per bagel, or from side to produce 7-10 larger chips.
Bagel Chips
- Bagels, whatever flavour you want
- EV Olive Oil, butter (I used leftover garlic oil from when I roasted garlic YUMM!)
- Flavours if you want them: dill, garlic, rosemary, Parmesan cheese, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, cinnamon and brown sugar or whatever you like best
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut bagels to produce small or large chips and lightly coat with oil, butter.
- Add flavours of your choice and place on baking sheet in a single layer. Prepare in batches if necessary!
- Cook for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown.
- They are a nice solid chip so enjoy with hummus or another thick dip!

Delicious oven baked cinnamon and sugar pita chips that Chris and I have come to LOVE!
SO tasty and satisfying, and extremely simple to make!
I drizzled some (in my pictures) with a homemade cream cheese frosting I made a few weeks ago and they were extra delicious.
Considering that this recipe only calls for approximately 1 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil, sugar and cinnamon per 16 chips, I really don’t mind making these delicious chips often.
Oven baked cinnamon and sugar pita chips
- As many or as few pitas that you would like, keeping in mind that 1 pita = 16 chips.
- 1 Tsp. extra virgin olive oil, sugar and cinnamon.
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Split pitas in two and drizzle 1/2 tsp. olive oil on each half. Spread around with back of spoon.

- Cut pitas in half length and crosswise until each half makes 8 chips.
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 8 minutes or until you reach desired crispiness.
- Drizzle with icing of your choice or enjoy on their own.

If you’re like me and hate to see the last couple pitas or tortillas go stale, or if you just want restaurant quality pita chips in your own home be sure to try this SIMPLE & QUICK recipe.

Easy Baked Pita Chips
Oven Baked Pita Chips

Sesame & Parmesan
As many or as few pitas as you would like [Each pita makes 16 chips]
Melted Butter or Olive Oil
Seasoning of your choice [I used a bit of grated Parmesan, Sesame Seeds and Salt and Pepper with delicious results! You could also use some basil, oregano, garlic, poppy seeds or whatever finely grated cheese you prefer]
-
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Split each pita bread in half crosswise into two rounds. Brush the inside of each round with enough butter or oil to fully cover and sprinkle with seasoning.
-
Cut each round into 8 equal wedges, and place, seasoned side up, in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. If all wedges do not fit in a single layer on baking sheet, prepare the chips in batches.
-
Bake until crisp and golden brown, 10-15 minutes depending on your oven.
-
Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, or let cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Crisp and Tasty!
These are best enjoyed with a thick dip or soup, although they are delicious to munch on by themselves. ENJOY!
